Inside: Are you craving rich, wisdom-filled books to nestle into? Here are 25 of the best Christian books for moms to help you get started.
Sitting on the porch, in the evening mountain air, with a paperback in one hand and a cup of camomile tea in the other is one of the most refreshing and rejuvenating ways to spend a summer evening.
While I know this to true, you'll be more likely to find me cuddled in the bed with the laptop and my husband, than with a book in hand outside.
There is more resistance when it comes to grabbing a book - pressing play feels so much easier and "needed". The problem is this: what is easier and what is needed aren't always aligned.
Reading good books, novel or non-fiction, can be equal parts escape. entertainment, education, and edification. Novels offer an opportunity to dive into story, and experience the highs and lows of life through the eyes of another, while the rich, straight-forward and encouraging words of non-fiction often spur us to right action.
In either category, the trick is in finding good quality, truth-filled books. That can be harder than it used to be in the current cultural climate.
This list holds some of the best christian books for moms.
May it spark some fresh ideas for the next book you grab, and transform the way you rest and rejuvenate.
Happy reading!

Why reading good Christian books matters for moms
Of all the avenues by which to tell us the story of the Gospel, God choose to do it through words. It's the stories in the Bible that offer us Truth to cling to, and a picture of Who it is that we serve.
The Bible, however, is not the only story we can catch glimpses of God through (though it is sufficient).
Our Creator has given us the ability to tell stories and craft words in such a way that are meaningful and remind us of who He is.
Every story ever written will somehow point to God, because that is ultimately what we were created to do. But the beauty in Christian works is that we know, from the outset, the ultimate goal and purpose of the writer is the same as our own.
There is a trust between author and reader.
How to choose good quality Christian books for moms
All Christian books are not created equal. Some are truly beautiful works of art, while others some seem more intent on being "Christian" than on being good pieces of literature.
Likewise, just because and author claims to be a follow of Christ doesn't always mean they view the Gospel of Jesus Christ and His Word the same as we do. The Bible warns us against those who sound Christian, but actually teach ideas that are contrary to what God shows us in His Word (2 Timothy 4:3-4).
So how do you choose good Christian books? Here are a few ways I go about picking the next paperback to grab:
1. Ask friends
2. Check out recommendations by your favorite podcasters
3. Read other books from an author you already love
4. Look up some titles on Goodreads
5. Use google to check out the author
In conclusion...
There is something precious about the time spent in a good book. With the advent of screens and apps, more screens and more apps, we send less time immersed in pages and more time glued to a device.
The resistance is real! But when you have a stack of good quality books available, it's just a little bit easier.
I hope this list of some of the best christian books for moms spurs you to to grab a book a little quicker next time.
